VideoIQ Closes $8 Million Series A Funding

WALTHAM, MA -- VideoIQ announced the closing of its first institutional round of venture capital financing, raising $8 million in new investment.

VideoIQ is a spin-out of GE Security.  The company is developing technology that analyzes video streams for important events, relieving humans of the time consuming and tedious process of monitoring video.  The system is already installed in chemical plants, water facilities, electrical utilities, border crossings and corporate campuses.

Investors in the round were Atlas Venture and Matrix Partners.  Venture partners from each firm have joined the Board after the transaction.
